Alabama MBB releases non-conference schedule for 2023-2024 season
The Alabama men’s basketball team released its non-conference schedule for the 2023-2024 season on Tuesday.
The Crimson Tide will have a tough slate of games prior to beginning conference play. Alabama head coach Nate Oats prefers to schedule difficult opponents to begin the season because he feels like it helps his team in the long run.
Previously, Oats spoke about scheduling a tough set of non-conference games.
“I think when you play tough teams, you learn your strengths and weaknesses a lot quicker and you can start to fix your weaknesses a lot quicker,” said Oats. “Well if you’re scheduling scared and just want to schedule a bunch of wins, you’re not going to put those games on the schedule. Can’t win them if you don’t play them. We’re going to play them.”
In the past, the Crimson Tide have had abundant success against non-conference opponents. With that said, it will be interesting to see how Alabama handles the tough non-conference schedule in 2023.
